The 'It' Colours Reflected At The Flower Basket...

With every season ushering the new offerings of the fashion set, The Flower Basket is pleased to present the latest colour themes.

White, yellow, and blue reign during the upcoming festive season.

The white theme, transparent and elegant, embodies the romantic feelings of elegance, opulence and romance, often associated with memories of St. Petersburg. Rich embellishments, Baroque ornamentation, velvet, lace, crystal, and trimmings set the tone here. Pale grey is combined with muted turquoise, cream, pink, and off-white.

Yellow is deemed splendid and imaginative. It makes a powerful appearance and is reminiscent of Southern charm and Spanish temperament. Earthy tones, sand, amber and orange emit the feeling of the scorching desert sun. Exotic flowers, including amaryllis, callas, and lilies, are refreshing accents in hand painted ceramics and ornate glass, featuring spiritual motifs. Velvet and brass, and varied textures with gold round off this colour sense.

Blue is natural and original. The cool blues of water interplay with the dark greens or rural informality and the indigo blues of the sky. Painted woods, ceramics, and pottery, enamel, cotton, linen, and lace complete the original, authentic mood.

Also Look For...

The 2007 Holiday season will focus on icy shades, such as white, in combination with turquoise and blue. Fanciful shapes and materials will provide texture and dimension.

The yellow theme will be dominated by gold in both metallic and matte finishes. Gold will permeate every colour theme this season. Other popular pairings will be burgundy with silver, ivory with gold, silver with black, and aqua and green. A new combination of russet reds, bronzes and gold will provide a multidimensional effect with layers of different textures - feathers, glass, beads, and fabric -combining for a fantasy effect.
